In recent years, digital technologies have brought about transformative changes in marketing practices for various organizations, as well as in the consumption patterns of individuals.

 

On the one hand, the Asia-Pacific region has witnessed innovative marketing practices underpinned by digital technology, resulting in the emergence of distinctive regional characteristics and globally applicable marketing principles.

 

On the other hand, people have actively adopted new digital technologies in various aspects of life, including shopping, consumption, entertainment, and learning, leading to novel trends in consumer behavior that continue to evolve.

 

The Asia-Pacific Marketing Academy Annual Conference (APMA) primarily targets the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to explore regionally distinctive and globally shared operating principles by investigating diverse marketing and consumer behavior practices in Asia-Pacific market during the digital era. Through this exploration, APMA seeks to contribute Asia-Pacific wisdom to the global innovation of marketing theory and practice.

 

The 2023 Asia-Pacific Marketing Academy Annual Conference (APMA 2023) is co-hosted by Sun Yat-sen University and the University of Macau, with the theme "Marketing Theory and Practice Innovations in the Digital Era."

Participation and Registration

APMA 2023 will feature regular academic conference, doctoral consortium, academic staff development forum and industry-academia collaboration forum.

All participants are expected to fill in the registration form and pay respective registration fee. Details can be found at following link.

 

Regular Academic Conference and Doctoral Consortium

Regular Academic Conference and Doctoral Consortium of APMA 2023 will feature keynote speeches and themed parallel sessions. Participants can submit full papers or extended abstracts to the conference.

The submissions should be marketing-related and written in English, but do not need to follow the conference theme. All submissions will receive feedback, and accepted submissions will be invited to present in English at the conference.

Excellent research papers, both at regular academic conference and doctoral consortium, will be awarded. Only full paper submissions will be considered for awards. Awardees will receive data service and fundings supported by Credamo.

 

Academic Staff Development Forum

Academic Staff Development Forum of APMA 2023 will focus on the career development, academic communications and job opportunities in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau area and west-Pacific region. The forum will be presented both in Chinese and in English. All participants are welcome to join this forum.

 

Industry-Academia Collaboration Forum

Industry-Academia Collaboration Forum of APMA 2023 will feature keynote speeches and parallel sessions centered around digital innovative technologies, medical & health marketing, and consumer insights. The forum aims to promote collaboration between Asia-Pacific marketing research community and industry partners, forming joint force to tackle key practical problems and explore cutting-edge marketing strategies in digital era.

Industrial practitioners are welcome to share your managerial and marketing-related insights. The primary language of this forum is Chinese. All participants are welcome to join.

Future Collaboration

The Asia-Pacific Marketing Academy Annual Conference (APMA) was founded by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Marketing Alliance in 2023. The alliance aims to promote international academic exchange and cooperation in the field of marketing, serving as a crucial global bridge connecting China with the world.

 

The APMA Organizing Committee has already planned the 2024 conference to be hosted by the City University of Hong Kong, and 2025 conference to be hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with preliminary location set in Hong Kong, China. We sincerely invite more universities and institutes to join the alliance and participate in future collaboration of conference organization, research communication and resource exchange.
