Undergraduate-AACSB AOL Improvement Meeting
On May 17, 2012, the improvement meeting of Undergraduate-AACSB Assurance of Learning (AOL) System was held to discuss the result of past year AOL data and the improvement plan. Associate dean Prof. Fu Zhengping presided over the meeting and associate director Prof. Wang Jiancheng presented the past-year results. Faculty from six departments, associate director of Academic & Research Supporting Office and staffs of International Accreditation and Quality Improvement Office (IAQIO) participated in the meeting.
With one year preparation and all faculty and staff’s effort, Sun Yat-sen Business School’s AOL System has been established and implemented for one year. According to the first-year’s data, the participants found that SYSBS students were not strong enough on the following three aspects: first, ability of understand and integrate general business concepts and knowledge in broad domains; second, demonstrate business communication skills effectively; and last but not the least, understand and comply with ethical norms and social responsibility.
In the meeting, participants raised improvement suggestions according to the mentioned weakness of the current Undergraduate AOL system and some plans to encourage students’ abilities.
Improvement Meetings with other programs will be held during late May and early June.
