Professor Liu Jingyan combed and analyzed the pattern of tourism management in the discipline system of business administration from two dimensions: international and domestic. She took SYSBS as a case to share the ideas, practice and thinking of discipline development and talent cultivation. Business Administration of SYSBS was awarded the subject for “Construction of world-class universities and world-class disciplines”, A+ Discipline in the fourth round of discipline assessment of the Ministry of Education, and SYSBS was also the only school having tourism management major among the four business administration A+ disciplines in China. Relying on the advantages of first-class disciplines, and implementing the first-class talent cultivation and internationalization strategy, the tourism management major of Sun Yat-sen University scored the first place in China's mainland majors and the top 20 in international majors. The project “Integrating Quality Education Resources at Home and Abroad, and the Internationalized Innovation Model and Practice fpr Dual-System Talent Cultivation” completed by Professor Liu Jingyan and her team won the first prize of the Guangdong Provincial Education and Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education) in 2017. The concept of talent cultivation, the internationalized innovation model and its strategic thinking provided reference and enlightenment for the development of the tourism management major. Professor Liu Jingyan proposed that the development of tourism management major must go out of the "comfort zone", abandon the "view of sectarianism", cultivate "cross-border" thinking, foster the concept of integrating personalization and diversification, consider tourism outside the tourism, conduct leveraging cooperation and optimize continuously. This is also the trend of the future development of China's tourism management major. At the same time, they also took the opportunity to introduce the 16th ApacCHRIE International Conference to be held at SYSBS from May 31st to June 2nd, 2018.
