Durham Business School MBA Delegation Visits SYSBS

An MBA delegation from Durham Business School, the United Kingdom, visited Business School of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSBS) and enjoyed a three-day study tour from June 9th to June 11th, 2011.

On the morning of June 9th, Doctor Lu Xiaoyan, Director of SYSBS International Cooperation and Exchange Office, presided over the opening ceremony and provided a general introduction of Sun Yat-sen University and SYSBS to the delegation. Wang Yuanhuai, Director of MBA program and Ding Jie, MBA faculty member, were present at the ceremony. In the morning the delegation also attended the lecture Chinese Marketing System delivered by Dr. Zhu Yimin from Department of Marketing, SYSBS. On the afternoon a special tour to Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery Group Co. Ltd and Guangzhou Flower City Square was arranged by MBA Education Center for the guests. In the evening the delegation cruised the Peal River to enjoy the beautiful night scene on the banks.

On the second day the study tour started with the lecture Doing Business in/with China delivered by Dr. Xu Kehan from Department of Business Administration, SYSBS. Then in a lively atmosphere the delegation lunched and chatted with MBA students of SYSBS who also accompanied the guests in corporate visit to Jet-Tern Marine Co .Ltd in Zhuhai. During the visit students held face-to face discussion with Dr. Chen Hongwen, the CEO and MBA alumnus of SYSBS. The discussion helped students to know in detail the strategic development of the corporate and its opportunity and challenge. Moreover Dr. Chen also showed the students around cabin and let them experience sailing yacht so that students would have a concrete understanding of corporate products, management and culture.

Visiting Guangzhou historic and cultural sites

In addition MBA Education Center also arranged a tour to several historic sites in Guangzhou, whose beauty and charming deeply impressed the Durham MBA students.

The three-day study tour came to an end with high praise from the delegation for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangement received from MBA Education Center.
