Opening Ceremony of Chan Sui Kau Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center

On March 14, Dr. Chan Sui Kau (President of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited and the YGM Group), Mrs. Hawkshaw Flona Margaret (Vice Consul of Consulate General of Canada in Guangzhou), Mrs. Jianhua Zheng (Chief Officer of Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario) Prof. Shanmin Li (Vice Dean of SYSU) and Prof. Zhongfei Li (Executive Dean of SYSBS) attended the opening  ceremony of Chan Sui Kau Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center.

In the ceremony, Prof. Shanmin Li expressed appreciation to the magnanimous kindness of Dr. Chan Sui Kau for providing material support to SYSBS, which paved the way for cultivating business talents in the future.

Introduced by Prof. Jianping Liang (Vice Director of Chan Suin Kau Case Development and Research Center), the necessity of establishing the research center is to assist young entrepreneurs who are faced with the severe challenges brought up by the deepening reform and transformation of the Chinese economy. Meanwhile, case teaching methodology is recognized as an effective way to teach business students.

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Zhongfei Li, on behalf of SYSBS, appointed Dr. Chan Sui Kau as honorary director of the research center.

 

Dr. Chan Sui Kau is a Hong Kong industrialist and philanthropist who is the founder of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited and the YGM Group. Due to his contributions on Hong Kong's garment and textile industry, he is nicknamed the "King of Hong Kong's Garment Industry" by the media. Dr. Chan has donated RMB 5,000,000 to SYSBS to erect Chan Sui Kau Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center.
