SYSU Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering Summit Forum Held at SYSBS
On April 15, 2012, SYSU Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering Summit Forum was held at International Conference Hall. It was co-hosted by Research Center for Financial Engineering and Risk Management (CFERM), SYSU, and SYSBS, Department of Finance & Investment (DFI), in order to mark the tenth anniversary of the establishment of DFI and the ninth anniversary of the foundation of CFERM.
The forum was hosted by SYSBS Executive Dean, SYSU University Financial Engineering and Risk Management Research Center Director, Finance and Investment Department Professor Li Zhongfei and it started promptly at 9:00pm. Over five hundreds guests participated in this forum, including students and faculty from SYSBS and other schools of SYSU, business circles guests from EMBA, MBA, EDP, and alumni of SYSU.

On the opening ceremony, SYSU Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Li Ping made warm remarks for the forum. She pointed out that DFI and CEFRM were important forces in the development process of SYSU finance subjects. Since their foundations, with great attention from university leadership and strong support of experts from different fields, DFI and CEFRM have made rapid development in various areas, such as professional settings, research conditions, talent recruit and cultivation, social service and international exchange, etc. In addition, a teaching and research team of young faculty has been developed and obtained remarkable achievements in international journal publication, national fund topic application, cooperation with high level universities and enterprises, as well as policy advice.

After the opening ceremony, professors from Peking University, Xiamen University, Hunan University, Tianjin University, Tamkang University and Sun Yat-sen University delivered seven sessions. Some probed deep into the present practice development, and some discussed the latest academic trends from the perspectives of enterprise finance and finance engineering. Many participants felt it was very rewarding to listen these absorbing sessions. They asked many questions at the forum and actively communicated with guest speakers during the tea break.
The one-day brilliant summit forum was a feast of thoughts. In the end of the forum, Executive Dean Li Zhongfei delivered the closing remarks on behalf of the forum organizers and expressed sincere thanks for speaker’s sessions and guests’ participation.
