The Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Spring EMBA Program and the 47th SYSU CEO Forum Held

The opening ceremony of the 2012 spring EMBA program and the 47th SYSU CEO Forum was held in the international conference hall on 5th November, 2011. More than 40 elites from different provinces and all walks of life gathered in SYSU and celebrated the opening ceremony.

Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, Mr. Long Bo, Associate Dean of Graduate School of SYSU, Prof. Tan Jinsong, CCP Secretary of SYSBS, Prof. Xu Yong, Associate Dean, Mr. Lan Yu, Associate Dean, Mr. Jin Xiangpeng, Assistant Dean, Prof. Chen Zhuming, Director of EMBA Education Center, Mr. Cai Zhaobo, Director of Southern Television (TVS) of Guangdong Province, also the former student representative from the class of 2010, EMBA Winter Program, Mr. Wen Jianren, General Manager of Guangdong Mingyang Electric Group Co., Ltd. and the new student representative of the 2012 spring EMBA class as well, and more than 40 newcomers were present. The opening ceremony was chaired by Associate Dean Prof. Xu.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Associate Dean Xu made an introduction of the leaders and guests that were present at the ceremony. Vice President Wei and CCP Secretary Tan in turn delivered wonderful speeches; Director of Guangdong TVS Mr. Cai, on behalf of all the former EMBA classmates, shared his experiences and knowledge gained during SYSBS EMBA courses; Mr. Wen Jianren, on behalf of new students, gave an admission speech. The inspiring school song ended the opening ceremony.

In the afternoon, Dr. Tang Min, Counselor of the Counselors' Office of the State Council, Executive Vice Chairman of YouChange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, Vice Chairman of Ministerial Committee of Graduate Faculty People’s Bank of China and a famous economist, Dr. Zuo Xiaolei, Chief Economist of China Galaxy Securities were invited to the 47th SYSU CEO Forum. They unraveled heated topics on the concern for China’s economy and its reactions and global economy. Over 40 new students of the spring EMBA classes and over 400 SYSU alumni attended the forum. The systematic explanation for short-term and long-term worries over China’s economy by the two experts helped the attendants understand more completely about the status quo and future of China’s economy. After the forum ended, many alumni commented that they found it to be beneficial to their further understanding of the current issues.

The hope is that all members of the 2012 spring EMBA classes will enjoy their two years’ study in SYSU, that they can apply their knowledge to practical business management and promote enterprise development, that they can make great contributions to the development of China’s economy.
