Practice the Objective of Talent Cultivation and Build Consensus of Discipline Development - The 2017 Annual Work Seminar Convened by Sun Yat-sen Business School
At the beginning of the new semester, Business School has convened the 2017 Annual Work Seminar on February 15, 2017 at international conference hall. The topics of business talent cultivation, discipline construction and administrative management have been thoroughly discussed at the meeting, and we have further built our consensus, identified the goal and clarified the path. Dean Wang Fan, Secretary Qi Xiaoping, Deputy Dean Liu Jingyan, Deputy Dean Zheng Guojian, Deputy Dean Li Guangzhong, Deputy Secretary Yu Liren and the staff that totally more than two hundred people of Business School have attended the meeting. Party Secretary Qi Xiaoping presided over the meeting.
The meeting began with the solemn school song. First, on behalf of the school Secretary Qi Xiaoping expressed warm welcome to the Deputy Secretary Yu Liren and other new recruits. Then, the heads of five administrative departments，Management Office, Undergraduate Affairs Office, Research Service and Graduate Affairs Office, MBA Center and EMBA, respectively summarized their work and reported their plans. Liu Jingyan, Li Guangzhong and Zheng Guojian respectively reported on a special topic of their opinion and layout for their own responsibilities.

Dean Wang Fan reported special topic for the 2017 annual work and strategic development of Business School. He stressed that higher demands should be put forward to the faculty, management staff and students so as to truly fulfill the steady improvement of talent cultivation. Properly speaking, as for the faculty, professors should give classes to undergraduate students and carry out small-class teaching; while as for management staff, they should implement job and staff design and define job duties, building a good Linkage between different departments; and as for students, they should be guided to comprehensively develop themselves and be encouraged to pursue advanced studies at home and abroad. In the end, Dean Wang Fan inspired everyone to unite in a concerted effort, to make contributions to the development of the school, and to jointly create a more beautiful future for BS.
At last, Secretary Qi Xiaoping led everybody to learn the Measures for the Implementation of Promoting World-class University and World-class Discipline Construction and the spirit of the speech given by President Luo Jun at the Conference of Brain Gain Implementation and at Commendation Meeting of Scientific Research, pointing out that Business School should set a core goal to improve scientific research innovation ability, pursue excellence and innovation, shape innovation culture and atmosphere and actively participate in the Construction of “Three Majors”. He pointed out that this year, all kinds of demands for school construction will be much higher. As President Luo Jun and School Party Secretary Chen Chunsheng said that everybody should see the problem with new ideas and work in new standards so as to achieve new breakthroughs and continuously make new achievements. At the same time, the school administrative departments must well serve and safeguard for teaching and scientific research of Business School. We hope all of us will work together and strive for the goal to construct the "high-quality and innovative international business school".
