The First Sino-US Cooperative MTA Program was established by Purdue University and SYSBS

On the afternoon of July 6, Sun Yat-sen Business School (SYSBS) signed a cooperation agreement on Master of Tourism Administration (hereinafter referred to as the MTA) with College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) of Purdue University in the VIP room of SYSBS, which was the first MTA program cooperated by China and the US at home.

SYSBS Associate Dean Professor Wang Fan and Purdue University CHHS Associate Dean Professor Cai Liping signed the cooperation agreement on MTA program. Heads and teachers of International Affairs Office, MBA Education Center, and Department of Hospitality and Service Management also attended the signing ceremony.

Purdue University is a public research university with a long history, which ranks top in many basic science and applied science fields in the United States. Purdue University has always been famous for its rigorous scholarship, excellent teaching quality and fruitful scientific research achievements, enjoying the reputation of “Harvard of the Tourism”. The cooperation agreement signed by SYSBS and CHHS aimed at sharing high-quality educational resources and jointly training excellent managers with global vision and high quality for the future tourism and hotel industry.

The MTA program cooperated by SYSBS and Purdue University created a new form of MTA education in China. Meanwhile, this program will work closely with other international cooperation programs of Department of Hospitality and Service Management of SYSBS (including Dual Degree of Tourism Management with Oklahoma State University, partner with International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and Academic Internship at Walt Disney World Resort) to build up an organic system of tourism, hotel and service management personnel training and discipline construction, making our Department of Hospitality and Service Management pioneer in the internationalization of related disciplines in China.
