They are a bunch of kids, who follow their parents and roam at the metropolis. Just like those stay-at-home children, these kids are the future of our country, and should gain more attention and care from our society. Who are they? They are the children of migrant workers.
The "Enlightening Dreams, Approaching Future --- Migrant Workers' Children Experiencing Life in SYSU" activity was successfully held on SYSU South Campus on June 3. The activity was hosted by SYSBS Li Xuerou Fund, co-hosted by Qi Chuang Social Work Service Center (located in Zhuhai District, Guangzhou) and SYSU Sanyushe Association.
The activity was organized in the hope of helping these children to set up firm beliefs in gratitude education and pursuing studies, by immersing them in the atmosphere of university campus, and exposing them to the personal examples and verbal instructions from university students.
21 students from 3 different migrant schools participated in the activity, and visited the classical architectures with ancient red walls and green glaze tiles in Kangle Park (Located in SYSU South Campus) under the companion of volunteers.

After lunch and sufficient rests, the children took part in some indoor activities and the "Inspirational Class", where volunteers encouraged them to pursue, to endeavor, to persist, and to bear in mind gratitude.

All children shared their thoughts after class and other activities and wrote down their wishes on pieces of paper. These notes, together with their smiling face photos taken during the activity, were put on the Wish Wall.

Li Xuerou Fund
SYSBS Li Xuerou Fund was established in September, 2009 by its alumni. Until now, Li Xuerou Scholarship has been selecting and rewarding qualified students for three years. Its target rewarding group has expanded from SYSBS undergraduates to all full-time undergraduates in SYSU. "To select students who are excellent in character and learning, moral-oriented" has always been the standard of selecting and evaluating students for the scholarship.
SYSBS Li Xuerou Fund is the symbol of advocating the spirit of gratefulness and contribution, which students rewarded would live up to. Moreover, they wish that they could transform this honor into a sense of responsibility to their Alma Mater, to the society, and contribute themselves by practical actions.
