Face to Face with International Management Gurus (Second Session)

On July, 7, "Face to Face with International Management Gurus" (Second Session) was held in administrative building B101. Lecture Professor of Management and Human Resource Department of Ohio State University, U. S. A and Guest Professor of SYSBS, world-famous strategic management scholar, Jay Barney, Tenured Professor of Management at University of Miami, world-renowned scholar, Professor Yadong Luo came to East Campus to exchange ideas with students in Q&A style and the wisdom sparkled from time to time.


The forum 

This forum concerned management, economy, strategy and so on. Topic ranged from team cooperation to strategic management, from the understanding of economy under globalization to Chinese enterprises' development plan under economy globalization, from management strategies to the understanding of RBV. Students raised questions actively. Professor Jay Barney and Professor Yadong Luo answered patiently in details, using simple and accessible examples to illustrate their opinions. At the same time, they complimented students for their valuable and profound questions. 

Delicate and proper metaphors, illustration with classical allusions, all these made 2 hours seem so short.Laughters and applause was heard from time to time. Everyone immersed themselves in abundant and carefully- structured management theories. At the end of the forum, Professor Yadong Luo gave Professor Jay Barney a SYSU souvenir made of bule and white porcelain as a present on behalf of SYSBS.

Many students said that they were very happy to exchange ideas related to management with world-class gurus closely. They added that it was their great honor to participate in academic discussion in such a free atmosphere and they looked forward to next "Face to Face with International Management Gurus" and talking to them again.
