A Successful Hosting of the 9th China Management Annual Conference
On 14—16 November, the 9th China Management Annual Conference, one of the biggest and highest-level comprehensive academic conferences in the field of management was held in SYSBS.
Sponsored by Chinese Research Council of Modern Management (CRCMM) and Fudan Premium Fund of Management and hosted by SYSBS, more than eight hundreds experts and scholars from various majors and several universities. During the conference, they contributed a number of practical insights under the theme of “Management Innovation in Deepening China’s All-Round Reform”.
The opening ceremony of the 9th China Management Annual Conference
The opening ceremony was held by Yong Shi (Vice-President and Secretary General of CRCMM) on 15 November. Prof. Siwei Cheng (Honorary Presidents of CRCMM and Prof. Qidi Wu (Dean of the Management Science, National Natural Science Foundation of China) wished the conference a success. Prof. Lihua Huang (Dean of Fudan Premium Fund of Management) and Prof. Minghai Wei (Vice-President of SYSU) presided over the opening ceremony, respectively. Additionally, the work summary of Chinese Research Council of Modern Management was presented by Prof. Chunjun Zhao.

The reporting session was hosted by Executive Dean Zhongfei Li (SYSBS), four honored guest provided their insight view focusing on this year’s topic. Prof. Yadong Lu (Distinguished Chair Professor of Management at University of Miami and Distinguished Professor of SYSU and member of Strategic Advisory Board) gave a lecture titled with “The Dilemma and Future of Management Theoretical Research in China”. Prof. Xinchun Li (the winner of Outstanding Contribution Award of Fudan Management) spoke on the subject of “The Reform of Family Enterprise”. Gang Yu (Board Chairman of yhd.com) stated his views on “The Application of Big Data in the E-commerce”. Jiqing Yao (President of De Rucci Bedding Co., Ltd. And the gainer of “The Top Professional Manager in China”) spoke on the subject of “Integration and Innovation under the Globalization Background”.

The conference divides into twenty discussion groups according to relative management topics. In addition, the Youth Forum, Periodicals Forum, Female Management Scientists Forum and Career Fair are opened at the same time. Moreover, based on the traditional events, the Entrepreneurs Forum was established and it served as a platform for ideas exchanging and communicating. In this year’s forum, a stimulating discussion on “Thinking and Marketing in the Internet Era” engaged the interest and attention of all the honored guests.
The 3th Deans’ Forum of China’s Business Schools held on 16 November is the other highlights of the conference. Executive Dean Zhongfei Li (SYSBS) conducted the forum, the distinguished guests present were: Prof. Lin Zhou (Dean of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University), Prof. Xindan Li (Dean of School of Management and Engineering, Nanjing University), Prof. Guilong Zhu (Dean of School of Business Administration South China University of Technology), Prof. Zongjun Wang (Dean of School of Management, Huazhong University of Science and Technology), Prof. Jingqin Su (Director of Faculty of Management and Economics, Dalian University of Technology), Prof. Dengshi Huang (Executive Vice-President of School of Economics and Management, Southwest Jiaotong University). Centering around the topics “The Innovative Mechanism of Cultivating the Management Talents” and “New Challenge for Business Schools Nowadays”, all the prestigious guests demonstrated and shared their insightful view.
The 3th Deans’ Forum of China’s Business Schools
Following the Forum, the award ceremony of Excellent Papers Award of the 9th China Management Annual Conference and the 2th Youth Management Scientists award was opened. The outstanding gainers of the Youth Management Scientists award were Prof. Yongbo Xiao (Management Science and Engineering, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University), Prof. Xufeng Zhu (School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University), and Prof. Xunrong Zhang (Director of Macroeconomic Department of Center for Forecasting Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences).

The next China Management Annual Conference will be hosted by the School of Management of Hefei University of Technology. At the end of the conference, the 9th China Management Annual Conference concluded successfully with a handing-over ceremony. We have high hopes for both the theoretical and practical workers in management field and expect them to come up with the innovative management mechanism in the wave of the deepening China’s All-Round Reform.
