SYSBS Held EQUIS Accreditation Reciprocal Banquet Successfully

On July 19, SYSBS EQUIS Accreditation Reciprocal Banquet was held in Guangzhou garden hotel. Secretary of CPC Committee of SYSU, Zheng Detao, Vice-chairman of Guangdong Political Consultative Conference and General Director of Ministry of Health of Guangdong Yao Zhibin, Vice Minister of Guangdong Publicity Department Yang Jian, Vice General Director of Minister of Education, Zhu Chaohua, Vice Secretary of CPC of SYSU, Zhu Kongjun, Vice President Xu Jiarui, Chen Chunsheng, Dean of SYSBS Yadong Luo, Executive Dean of SYSBS, Li Zhongfei, Secretary of CPC of SYSBS Tan Jingsong, Professor Mao Yunshi and Li Xinchun all attended the banquet.

Secretary of CPC of SYSU Zheng Detao delivered a speech. On behalf of SYSU, he extended warm welcome to the guests and leaders attending this banquet. He pointed out that EQUIS constituted an authoritative business education evaluation system worldwide. Being awarded EQUIS accreditation was of great significance. First it marked that SYSBS had been a member of the first-rank business schools and signified that the management level, education quality and international influence of SYSBS was recognized by the rest of world. Second, it was also recognition of the internationalization level of SYSBS and established a platform of higher level to exchange ideas. Third, it stimulated SYSBS to build a new internal management mechanism and promoted management and construction of SYSBS to realize sustainable development. He hoped that the school would keep up the good work and would be awarded AACSB Accreditation in the near future.

He demonstrated that after more than 20 years, SYSBS had become a principle base for training professional manager and entrepreneurs of high level in China. The experts and scholars’ suggestions played an indispensible part in Guangdong economic development. Theory came before the practice. This year was the starting year of the Twelfth-Five year. We hoped that SYSBS would offer more suggestions, strategies and feasible theories to realize "accelerating transcending and transforming, building a happy Guangdong" strategic plan which was put forward by provincial party committee and the provincial government.

Chairman of the Board of Lingnan International Group, Feng Jin made a speech.On behalf of entrepreneurs and alumni, he congratulated SYSBS for being awarded EQUIS Accreditation. He said that Lingnan International Group has developed mature cooperative relationship with SYSBS. The growth and development of Lingnan International Group relied on the support from SYSBS. It would always act as a solid backing for the development of SYSBS. In the future, the parties would further cooperate in terms of internationalization.

Dean of SYSBS, Yadong Luo gave a speech. According to him, being awarded EQUIS Accreditation was only a periodic goal and a starting point for more learning indeed. All the faculties of SYSBS must work harder, cooperate with each other to get AACSB Accreditation to make SYSBS the second business school to be awarded three international accreditations in China. Based on this, we could make greater contributions to the national economic development.

During the banquet, guests toasted to celebrate for SYSBS being awarded EQUIS Accreditation successfully. There was also performance. Students from Accounting Department Grade 2009 prepared the dance “See the crescent again” as a present for SYSBS. Performance by teachers of SYSBS including “Festival Happy Song”, “Motherland, toast to you”, “ Thank you” all expressed their joy and gratitude; the magic “Rapture” created joyful atmosphere.
