CUHK Study Tour

In order to enhance exchanges between Hong Kong and Guangdong and to help students in Hong Kong gain a better understanding of the educational development, accounting system and the system and management of foreign taxation in mainland China. The department of accounting of SYSBS has organized a study tour for accounting students of City University of Hong Kong from December 19th to December 30th of 2012. Held annually since 2006, the program has entered its sixth year. A total of 44 accounting undergraduates and lecturers took part in the tour this year while around 30 students and lecturers of our school were engaged in the discussion.

This year’s program covered the symposium, the activities for promoting friendship, visits to companies and dialogues with the managerial staff. Prof. Tan Jinsong, Lin Bin, Liu Feng, Associate Prof. Qi Jiangna and Doctor Song Xiaoning, who all possess a great quantity of theoretical and practical experience on accounting and taxation, gave lectures on the symposium concerning Corporate Governance and Quality of Accounting Information, The Guidelines and Practices of Chinese Accounting, Chinese Corporate Internal Control and Risk Management, Chinese Auditing, Chinese Tax System, etc. The program certificates which are jointly accredited by Sun Yat-sen Business School and City University of Hong Kong are offered to students who have completed the program.
                                         

The program also included visits to Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery Group Co., Ltd. and GP Certified Public Accountants Co., Ltd., which facilitated the face-to-face communication with the managerial accounting staff.

On December 25th, Accounting Society, the specified academic organization constituted by the accounting students of SYSBS, undertook the Christmas activities for mutual communication. During this period, both sides showed the characteristics of their own scholar lives, playing the interactive team games and carried out a friendly badminton match.
