????China’s Most Powerful MBA Schools List for 2016????
??Tsinghua University, Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, China Europe International Business School and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences rank the top five. And their global influences still need urgent improvement.????
?? Edited by the World Entrepreneur of the World Executive Group, China’s Most Powerful MBA Schools List for 2016 was published in the World Executive Summit held in Hong Kong on September 26. The top five colleges are the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua, the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, the Sun Yat-sen Business School, the China Europe International Business School and the School of Economics and Management at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. John Deighton, a senior professor at Harvard Business School, and Ravi Dhar, a senior professor at Yale Management School, attended the meeting and gave awards to the award-winning business school.??
At the same time, World Entrepreneur released World's Top 100 Most Powerful MBA Schools List for 2016. Harvard Business School, Standford Business School and the Sloan School of Management in Massachusetts Institute of Technology rank the top three. The organization has been evaluating the world’s and China’s education for 14 years. This year, 10 business schools from China were included in the list, the same as it was last year, 7 of which are from the mainland China and 3 from Hongkong. It is worth to notice that among the top 10 schools, 8 are from the United States, much more than that from other countries, and one apiece from the United Kingdom and France.??
???? Whether b????usiness schools should need brand building like businesses or not? “In the general sense, brands of business school are like corporate brands. They provide quality products and services to attain respect. But there are differences between business schools and businesses in terms of special implications. The so-called special implications include two aspects. The first is the commitment to students that the education that students gain is worthwhile. The second is the commitment to employers that once employed, the students from business school will improve company’s performance,” remarked John Deighton, a senior professor at Harvard Business School.????????
“Business schools are inclined to show their brand value in the future. Especially when you face uncertain future value, a powerful education brand will help you make choices. If a student’s whole life is linked with super business schools, the added value of brands become visible.” said Dr. Stephen Woolgar, a professor at Oxford University, “The goal for an MBA is either to find a better job or to seek a business opportunity. So it’s also very important whether a valuable network is available at business schools.??
“MBA education has cooled down worldwide, and demands for the two-year full-time MBA programs in US business schools has fallen. The decline in MBA applications indicates the raised insecurity of employment and increased online learning opportunities which changed people’s attitudes towards business education. Maybe MBA courses will no longer exist in 50 years and may be taken over by other programs adaptive to the time. MBA has been regarded as a vocational education for more than 100 years. As industrial society becomes a history, a change of teaching mode, curriculum setting, the way of paying tuition and screening students source is needed to correspond to information society.” said Ding Haisen, the chief editor of World Entrepreneur. ??
??The comparative study of the world’s and China’s MBA education, launched by the World Executive Group and World Entrepreneur, is significant for educators, entrepreneurs and executives by informing foreign business schools and transnational corporate of the status of Chinese business schools and MBA graduates. It is reported that World Entrepreneur, a management magazine under the World Executive Group, a strategic advisory body, targets at entrepreneurs, business starters and executives. In addition to the annual surveys at world’s and China’s business schools, the magazine also conducts case studies and management training for Chinese companies, along with professors from world-class business schools, such as Harvard Business School, Yale School of Management, Oxford Business School, and the European Business and Management School.??
