The theme of this frontier research method series workshop was latent variable mixed model, on which Chinese lectures were given nationwide for the first time. The lectures were dedicated to promoting the statistical method of latent variable mixed model to Chinese scholars, introducing related basic concepts, explaining its operation principle and model assumption, and demonstrating how to use certain statistical software (MPLUS) to establish and verify applicable models and report results.

The workshop was chaired by Dean of Sun Yat-sen Business School (SYSBS) Professor Yadong Luo. Tenured Associate Professor Mo Wang from the University of Florida served as the guest speaker and Assistant Professor Songqi Liu from Pennsylvania State University and Researcher from the University of Miami, USA Stephanie L. Wang, as assistant guest speakers. Combining years of practical experience, they demonstrated and illustrated the main latent variable mixed model analysis method through examples, and elaborated its application in the field of management to help students organize and manage related studies more in-depth and more comprehensively.

SYSBS has always been committed to introducing to Chinese management scholars the most advanced research methods and management theories. As the second session of the frontier research method series lectures, this lecture and the frontier management theory system to be held the second half of this year will supplement each other and have different focuses. The frontier research method series and frontier management theory series lectures have played an important role in building a platform for scholars at home and abroad to communicate and learn from each other, disseminating frontier research methods and theories, and promoting the prosperity and development of academic activities. The two series of activities are open to domestic and foreign teachers and students for free.
