Career Navigation - the Second Alumni Forum
On May 28th, a special alumni forum was held on the South Campus. 12 Alumni from the classes of 2004 to 2006 majoring in Accounting came back to Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center to give guidance to the students from the class of 2008. Zeng Tao, Yang Xiaohui, Wen Lihua from the Office of Career Development & Alumni, also attended the forum.
At the beginning, 7 alumni shared their personal experience in different professions. Wang Xiaoshuang shared her life as an accountant in PwC. Li Yue briefed her feelings of working for P&G. Fan Shaolei in the Guangzhou Customs advised the seniors to consider their preference. Chen Chuanbin, working at an urban construction group, talked about appropriate attitudes and qualities required in state-owned enterprises. As one of the Audit Bureau staff, Wu Shuang encouraged the students to be confident. Yu Bixiao analyzed recent recruitment status of Guangzhou Local Taxation Bureau. Li Hantao, an investor in Zhongshan, introduced the operations of private companies.
In the following session for free discussion, the students showed their concerns and curiosity about career planning and employment, while alumni patiently offered the answers and suggestions. The students expect more similar forums in the future, so that they could know more about the professional world and better decide what they want their own occupation to be.
