China Family Business Research Center entered Japan Againto Take a Deep Research on Century-old Shop
??After the investigation of the century-old shop in Japanin November 2016, China Family BusinessResearch Center (Sun Yat-sen University) leaded by College Professor Li Xinchunwent to Japan again to take a deep research on 15 enterprises and institutions locatedin Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kitakyushu and Tokyo from July 17 to August 3, 2017.Under the support of Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto Old Shop Association andUniversity of Kitakyushu, the research team gained great insight to the historyof development, culture heritages, cross generational innovations and regionaltraditions of longevity enterprises and achieved fruitful research.
Professor Li Xinchun, togetherwith Japanese partner Professor Wang Xiaoping, Professor FURUTA,SHIGEMI,successively visited 12 longevity family enterprises including SHIMADZU,Gekkeikan, MINOKICHI, 2 century-old educational services named Huaidetang andMinchengshe, and department of literature of Osaka University which preservedthe historical materials of Huaidetang.
The team conducted a detailed andin-depth investigation on the historical materials of enterprises with fourtimes visit to MINOKICHI and three times visit to SHIMADZU.
In the period of investigation, theresearch group discussed separately with Professor Matsuoka Kenji andProfessor Tsujita Soko of RyuKoku University, Professor Okumura Youchi, Dean ofthe School of Economy of Ritsumeikan University, Professor Yuasa Hong Bang of Osaka University, Professor Dou Shaojie ofDoshisha University and other experts specialized in Japan old shop research.
On July 19, Professor Li Xinchunand his party were invited to the Kyoto Prefectural hall, which was hosted byMr. Yamashita Kojun, vice governor of Kyoto Prefecture. As the founder of KyotoOld Shop Association, Yamashita Kojun talked about the support from Japanesegovernment and future development on old shops.
After the sign of Memorandum ofAcademic Exchange in November, 2016, the cooperative study on the cause andmanagement mode of the sustainable development of Japan century-old enterpriseshas been started by China Family Business Research Center of Sun Yat-senUniversity and China Business Research Center of University of Kitakyushu.
On July 26th, Professor LiXinchun and Wang Xiaoping reported separately on the publiclecture of University of Kitakyushu, on the basis of questionnaire statistics whichfocused on Japan’s longevity family enterprises in the first half year, andimplemented the following work arrangement.
