Master of Professional Accounting Delegation from the McCombs School of Business University of Texas at Austin Visited SYSBS
On Wednesday 20 June 2012, Master of Professional Accounting delegation from the McCombs School of Business University of Texas at Austin visited SYSBS, which consisted of 29 students accompanied by 2 officers from their partnership CUHK Business School. During their visit, they attended a lecture given by Prof Qi Jiangna and had a face to face communication with the SYSBS MPAcc students which was a very good exchange. Followed by the school visit in the morning, SYSBS set up a visit for both parties’ students to Jabil Circuit (Guangzhou) Ltd. to meet their financial controller. Both the US and SYSU students benefited a lot for this exchange activity.
It will be the sixth year that these US accounting students come to CUHK to attend the month-long study program and every year they have a four-day trip to Guangzhou. This year it is the 2nd time for them to visit SYSBS. The objective of the study program is to let the US students understand more the Chinese management culture together with the finance and accounting practices.
The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) was founded in 1883, and the university's School of Business Administration was established a few decades later in 1922. The school quickly grew, establishing a Master of Professional Accounting program in 1948 and offering its first executive education programs in 1955.
The McCombs School of Business consistently ranks among the top business schools in the nation, the majority in the top 10 and is the oldest public business school in Texas.
