The First Disabled’s Entrepreneurship And Innovation Competition in China Was Held in Our School
The finals of Guangdong “SEI Cup (Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cup)” Disabled’s Competition (the TOP 12 qualifying competition) and Social Entrepreneurship Training Camp is held from August 26th to August 28th in our school. It was co-hosted by administrative units of Guangdong, including Human Resources and Social Security Department, Education Department, Science and Technology Department, Commerce Department, Communist Youth League Committee, Women’s Federation and Disabled Federation and was undertaken by our school and Guangdong Careers Service Center for Handicapped. It is also the first disabled’s entrepreneurship and innovation competition in China.
Almost 400 events were drawn to the competition
Since the competition begun, it has aroused extensive concern in social community and gained a lot of supports. Among the 399 events, there are 80 excellent events (including 20 groups each in disabled-helping Group and Enterprise Group, and 20 groups each in Self-improvement Group and Enterprise Group) have entered the finals. The self-improvement event includes several fields like education, recovery, energy conservation and environmental protection, biomedical, modern agriculture, social service and social charity.
Through a 3-day training and roadshow, the 80 competitors successively demonstrated the outstanding performance of disabled who self-improved themselves to start their business and of non-disabled who start their business to help disabled. Standing in front of a huge glaring screen, all the competitors methodically demonstrated their respective business model and vision and calmly answered the questions with their fiery heart of charity. The disabled and non- disabled united as one and created a wonderful competition. Through the fierce competition, 12 competitors entered the provincial finals held at the end of September. They will compete with each other and shine again.
Training courses tailored for disabled entrepreneurs
In order to help competitors learn the basic knowledge of entrepreneurship, exploit their business mind and dodge entrepreneurial risk, the organizers have carried out a two-day training camp started from August 26th before the competition. Professor Ren Rongwei and doctor Fang Zhiyuan were specially invited to be the camp supervisors, and training courses such as “Entrepreneurial Opportunity for Disabled and Innovation of Business Model”, “The Writing of Entrepreneurial and Business Plan for Disabled”, “PPT Roadshow of Disabled Entrepreneur”, “Cognition of Entrepreneurial Mentality of Disabled” and “Entrepreneurial Risk Management for Disabled” were tailored for the camp. With the painstaking guidance of the supervisors and with the close connection between theory and practice, the competitors have developed their skills of strategic positioning of entrepreneurial program, business model design, business planning and entrepreneurial roadshow, which immensely improved their independent entrepreneurial and management abilities.
