On 29 October, 2014, International Accreditation Advisory Board has ratified granting SYSBS the full quota accreditation for five years. Following the successful re-accreditation of EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), SYSBS makes a significant step in re-accreditation, which could never be accomplished without the effort and dedication of students, faculty, and administration.

Founded in 1967, the Association of MBAs is the only global MBA-specific Accreditation and one of the three main global accreditation bodies in business education, styling itself "the world's impartial authority on postgraduate management education". As of September 2014, the Association of MBAs has accredited 219 business schools around the world, including University Of Oxford SAID Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School.

Earning the AMBA International Accreditation provides a promising future for SYSBS and makes SYSBS rank among other advanced and world-renowned business schools. Dating back to 2009, SYSBS was the first business school to gain the initial accreditation for five years in mainland China, which notified the opening of the international development of SYSBS.

The on-site re-accreditation ceremony was held on 12—14 October at SYSBS. The visiting jury members were Prof. Andrew Lock (Dean Emeritus, Leeds University Business School Member of Advisory Board), Prof. Mark Oakley (Pro-Vice-Chancellors of Aston University), Prof. Zhongming Wang (Pro-Vice-Executive-Dean of School of Management, Zhejiang University) and Prof. George Iliev (AMBA Director of Development Markets). During the three-day accreditation period, the jury members met Ningsheng Xu, the renowned academician and the former President of SYSU, Prof. Minghai Wei (Vice President of SYSU), Prof. Zhongfei Li (Executive Dean of SYSBS), Jingsong Tan (Deputy Secretary of SYSBS), Prof. Fan Wang (Dean of SYSBS) and Prof. Yu Lan (Dean of SYSBS). In addition, representatives of MBA Programs, EMBA Programs, faculty, students, alumni and corporate employers were presented as well.

After the three-day review, the committee of accreditation was deeply impressed by the rapid development of SYSBS in the past five years. In the on-site accreditation report, they sing high praise for SYSBS in terms of SYSBS’s high rank in Global MBA Rankings hosted by Financial Times. The past five years have witnessed the great progress of SYSBS in establishing the quality guarantee system, ensuring the quantity and quality of scientific research, and in increasing the level of internationalization. Apart from that, the committee also mentioned that at the crossroads of the development of SYSBS, to preserve the brand image and to follow a benchmark of global business school are two key points concerning to future improvement of SYSBS.
