The Lecture on “Application of Complex Network and Big Data Analysis in Financial System” of Advanced Financial Research Institute, Sun Yat-sen University Was Held Successfully
On the afternoon of May 21st, the Advanced Financial Research Institute, Sun Yat-sen University held the lecture of the series of big data and frontiers of financial technology. In this lecture, Researcher Li Shibing was invited to be the keynote speaker and brought a wonderful academic report on “application of complex network and big data analysis in financial system” to the teachers and students of our school. Assistant Professor Wei Lijian presided over the lecture.

In current era, massive data has been accumulated for people to dig and analyze from financial market, internet to social relations and other fields. First of all, Teacher Li Shibing popularized the relevant concepts and historical development of big data analysis for us, and introduced the general characteristics of big data. Next, Teacher Li Shibing expounded his research results on financial data in recent years with examples, including the complex network based on China’s risk investment, China’s market portfolio based on complex network, the complex network of foreign exchange market, and the research on the real estate price in Singapore and Taiwan, etc. Finally, Teacher Li Shibing put forward some ideas and prospects for the future research direction of complex network and big data analysis, and he especially proposed forward-looking research suggestions in the aspect of company investment and financing, financial systemic risk analysis, and so on.
After the report, the teachers and students responded enthusiastically and actively put forward their own views and doubts, and Teacher Li Shibing gave professional and meticulous answers one by one, wining constant applause. The present teachers and students said that the report of Researcher Li Shibing was rigorous and vivid, and had provided a new way of thinking, which really made them benefit a lot.
