2017 Alumni Annual Working Conference of Our School Ends Successfully, and New Journey to be Carried Forward
On January 13, 2018, 2017 Alumni Annual Working Conference of our school was grandly opened in the Shan Si International Conference Hall. More than 100 alumni attended the event, listened to the work reports by dean Wang Fan and representatives of various alumni associations, and the enterprise cases shared by the Whampo backbone representatives of alumni work and outstanding alumni, and witnessed the beneficial exploration of integrating the strength of the alumni platform, school resources and the joint operations between alumni and enterprises, which laid the foundation for the smooth development of the alumni work in 2018.
The conference was presided over by Qi Xiaoping - secretary of the CPC Party Committee of our school. More than 100 people attended the conference, including leaders of our school, faculties representatives, members of the standing committee of the alumni association, representatives of the alumni associations and alumni representatives, etc.
Dean Wang Fan made the "Overall Planning Report on the Alumni Work of Business School". He gave a detailed introduction to the alumni of the leading positions in international and domestic rankings that Business School achieved in 2017, the outstanding achievements and solid experiences obtained in the aspects of scientific research, personnel training, social responsibilities and internal governance, etc., which aroused the strong sense of pride and enthusiastic applauses of the alumni.
Later, he reiterated that as a business school, our school should serve as a bridge between "academia" and "business", a lifelong education center for cultivating leaders, managers, decision makers and entrepreneurs, with functional orientation as the important forces of promoting the local and international social transformations. Alumni are the best brand of Business School in the society, the biggest highlight of attracting students, the high-quality faculty resources, and can form a huge social network and bring potential feedback to all parties. Therefore, he highly values the importance of alumni to the development of Business School.
At present, the alumni of our school are numerous and widely distributed, with alumni association in various regions. They're concerned and passionate about giving back to school and have high expectation for the alumni work. The focus of the school's alumni work in 2018 will be planned and carried out in accordance with creating "core members + radiation network" to promote the development of local alumni associations, hold more annual theme activities, promote the dynamic integration of the alumni work and the school brand, teaching and research, and funds, foreign relations, etc., and we hope the all backbone alumni will participate actively.
Ke Jianjie - secretary general of the alumni council of our school made the "Alumni Work Report of Business School in 2017". In 2017, our school carried out 113 alumni projects, received 997 person-time of alumni, accumulated funds donations 3,072,798.99 yuan in total, a record high. The alumni independent management platform of alumni database has been set up, with 42,744 alumni data entered, and the cloud management, cloud backup and cloud activities will be realized in the future, to provide a convenient platform for the development of alumni work and the pooling of alumni resources.
Later, representatives of various alumni associations, including MBA Association, EMBA Alumni Council, EDP Alumni Association, local alumni associations - Shenzhen Alumni Association, school fund representatives - Li Xuerou Fund, etc. reported their work respectively, introduced the main activities of the alumni associations in 2017 and the work prospect in 2018. The Whampo backbone representatives of alumni work and the outstanding alumni enterprises case road show, shared from three aspects including "Whampo Backbone Class", "Running Training Camp" and "Medical Sleep Health On-line Management Project", had beneficial exploration in the integration of the alumni career, school development and social needs, the resources docking and other aspects, which laid the foundation for the smooth development of the alumni work in 2018.
