The Lasting Classmates’ Friendship and The Unforgettable Teachers’ Kindness - The 10th Homecoming Anniversary Celebration of the Postgraduate Class Enrolled in 2007 of Business School

At 9:00 am on November 18, 2017, "the lasting classmates’ friendship and the unforgettable teachers’ kindness" - the 10th Homecoming Anniversary Celebration of the Postgraduate Class Enrolled in 2007 of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University was held in the International Conference Hall of Shansi Hall of Business School. More than 80 alumni and course teachers got together to share the friendship between teachers and students.
The celebration began with the teachers and students singing the school song. Qi Xiaoping - secretary of the CPC Party Committee of our school reviewed the development history of Business School in his speech, shared the future prospects, and expressed a warm welcome to the alumni coming back to visit the Alma mater. He also pointed out that Sun Yat-sen University has entered the ranks of world-class universities, which was closely related to the concept of talent cultivation put forward by Sun Yat-sen University "to shape the business talents who have both ability and moral integrity, able to cultivate charisma and eager to serve their country", and the school also put forward three orientations (oriented to the academic frontiers, oriented to the major national development needs, and oriented to the local economic construction and development), to output high-level talents, high-level scientific research institutions and high-level scientific research achievements, which's a contribution to the development of local governments. Professor Wang Yongli - from Business Administration Department and representative of the course teachers, first expressed her gratitude to the alumni for their invitation and her appreciation of the classmates' friendship and their positive attitude of life, and had some advice for the alumni: remember the goodness of the past, taste the happiness of the present and look forward to the splendidness of the future. Associate professor Huang Yirong - from Finance and Investment Department and representative of course teachers, had wonderful sharing with the classmates on the time management of work, life, family and study.
Three alumni representatives, Chen Jianian - chairman of Grand Dragon Group, Wu Jiajuan - vice general manager of International Commodities Exhibition and Trade City of Guangbai Group Co., Ltd. and He Qiaoyu - department manager of Guangzhou Unicom Tianhe Sales Company, shared their development process, achievements, gains and experiences during study in Sun Yat-sen University in the past ten years. The speeches of the three alumni representatives are just a microcosm. We believe that in the past decade more alumni have grown up, got married, started a career, become elite and mainstay of the society, and given back to their Alma mater and the society.
At the end of the celebration, the alumni donated generously to support the Alumni Fund of the Business School, Sun Yat-sen University. This is a very meaningful act of kindness for the alumni to support and give back to their Alma mater with practical actions and pass on their love!
Finally, the alumni took a group photo together in front of the Shansi Hall, recalled their learning footprints ten years ago, wished their Alma mater a prosperous future and strive to rank among the world famous schools!
