On March 14th, the Alumni Council General Election Meeting and the Alumni Foundation Council Inaugural Meeting of Business School were held in the Huai Shi Hall of south campus. Kong Xiaohui - deputy director of Education Development an Alumni Affairs Office of the university and deputy secretary general of Alumni Association, Tan Jingsong - secretary of the CPC Party Committee of our school, special guest Gu Baoyan - the old dean, secretary Yu Hua, teacher Lv Yalu, and more than 200 alumni directors from all walks of life attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Dai Honghui - deputy secretary of the CPC Party Committee of our school.

Secretary Tan Jingsong first thanked the distinguished guests and alumni who came from all over the world to attend the meetings, then reviewed and summarized the work of the Alumni Association of Business School in the past ten years, and made a speech on the development of the school in recent years and the overall planning and deployment of the alumni work.

Later, the school leaders explained the formation process of alumni directors and the revised criteria for the alumni charter. In order to increase the representativeness of the Alumni Association of Business School, the school and the alumni had extensive contacts and consultations in the process of general election of the Alumni Council. The council directors were discussed and recommended by the alumni of each class, and each class nominated a director. After the university's implementation of the grade-level council system in 2007, some classes already have the grade-level directors who would automatically become the alumni directors of these classes, and there's no need to elect alumni directors otherwise. The principals of the local alumni associations and alumni organizations of the Business School would also automatically become the council directors. The school leaders, the three major education centers, Education Affairs Office and Career Development and Alumni Work Office, recommended candidates of vice president, honorary director and executive director from the list of directors they are respectively responsible for. The alumni council charter of the school is based on the alumni association charter of Sun Yat-sen University, which combines the current situation of the school and has been revised based on the opinions of the alumni. All the participating directors reviewed and approved the members list of the new Alumni Council and the alumni association charter.

The Alumni Foundation Council Inaugural Meeting was held right after the Alumni Council General Election Meeting ended successfully. At the meeting, the members list of the first Alumni Foundation Council were read out, and the alumni foundation council charter was reviewed and approved.
