Undergraduate Dual Degree Program with IU-KSBI Launched

Last updated:2011-06-17

On June 11, a new agreement for a dual degree program was signed by Prof. Luo Yadong, International Dean of SYSBS and Prof. Philip Cochran, Associate Dean of Indiana University – Purdue University (IUPUI) Kelley School of Business Indianapolis (IU-KSBI), to launch new mutual learning opportunities for students and faculty.

After more than two years in negotiation over details of the new Undergraduate Dual Degree Program, IU-KSBI and SYSBS reached an agreement and their strong partnership continues.

The alliance initially provides opportunities for SYSBS students to enroll at IU-KSBI for two years after completing the first two years at SYSBS. Therefore they will graduate with degrees from both universities having gained invaluable knowledge of both the Chinese and U.S. business cultures.

The first SYSBS students are expected to enroll for the Fall 2012 semester, and preliminary predictions estimate that 10-25 students will participate. These students will gain important exposure to the U.S. business climate, and will appreciate the growing global connection between U.S. and Chinese business.

Dean Luo listed three major benefits of this exchange: 1) Faculty at both universities will be afforded opportunities to serve as visiting professors, collaborate and expand research projects; 2) Senior workshops will be conducted at IUPUI and SYSBS; 3) There will be further program expansion in EDP/MBA/EMBA.
